Secret Ingredient Classes


Class

All classes at The Secret Ingredient are one to two hours in length (depending on format)and held in the comfort of Tracy's home kitchen. Classes are kept small to encourage participation, and never are larger than ten students. Each month features something new---a particular ethnic cuisine, cooking concept, or theme.

In addition to the monthly class schedule (listed below), Tracy also offers private group classes. For more information and to see all the menus available for private groups, click here.

A NOTE ABOUT WAITLISTS: Once a class has sold out, names will be taken for a waitlist in case of cancellation. However, if there is sufficient interest, an additional section of the class will be added and those waitlisted will be contacted via email.


MORNING STIR FRY WORKSHOP

Tuesday, January 24, 2012, 10-11:30am ($45)

Stir fry cooking is a simple, healthy way to cook! In this class you'll learn to make Homemade Chili Oil, Shrimp & Pork Lo Mein, and Sesame Vegetables.

I've taken the most popular dishes from my Italian-themed classes and put them together! You'll learn to make a fabulous Penne alla Vodka, Wild Mushroom Risotto, and Chicken Cacciatore that will have you saying "mangia!"!

Saturday, February 11, 2012, 2-4pm ($55)

When you can make an entire meal in one pot, there's less clean up and more time with your family! In this class we'll make a delicious Morroccan Chicken Tagine, an inventive 'no stir' Baked Butternut Squash Risotto, and a super-healthy Vegetable Stifado with Feta.

PIZZA DOUGH WORKSHOP

Tuesday, March 6, 2012, 10-11:30am ($45)

Pizza is easy when you know how to make a great dough! In this class we'll learn a variety of methods to make basic pizza dough, whole wheat dough, semolina dough, and an herbed dough. We'll also make focaccia and each participant will go home with their own dough to make pizza at home!

When you use flavorful ingredients, you don't need a lot of them! During this class we'll make three simple, delicious dishes including Orange-Balsamic Chicken, Pasta with Gorgonzola Cream Sauce, and Pistachio-Crusted Pork Tenderloin.

Friday, March 16, 2012, 10-11:30am ($45)

Liven up any meal with these great condiments---perfect over chicken, fish, beef or even pasta! We'll learn to make Roasted Tomatillo Salsa, Spicy Ginger Sauce (perfect for dipping or stir frying), a Trapanese Tomato Pesto, and Cucumber-Mint Tzatziki Sauce!

Sunday, March 25, 2012, 2-4pm ($55)--please note this is a new date!

Cooking healthy meals for your family doesn't have to take a lot of time! In this all-new class we'll make three quick-cooking and delicious meals your entire family will love. Chicken-Lentil Sliders, Mediterranean Style Salmon with Sweet Potatoes, and a Whole Wheat Pasta Primavera with Asparagus Pesto are all on the menu!

The Secret Ingredient Policies: Payment is required to hold spot in class. No refunds within 72 hours of class, unless spot is able to be filled from waitlist. Otherwise, you may send someone in your place or request recipes. Gift certificates, unless otherwise specified, may be redeemed at any time toward cooking classes at The Secret Ingredient Cooking School. The value equals the amount paid when purchased and is not redeemable for cash. Regular class policies apply when gift certificates are used as payment for classes. Please be advised that donated classes (for auctions, raffles, etc) expire one year from date of issue and are not redeemable for cash. There is a $20 fee on bounced checks. Please note that The Secret Ingredient is NOT a nut-free zone.
